Olympic Style Fencing Instruction
For Ages: 8-14
Dates: June 24th – June 27th
Times: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Location: DG Cooley Gym, in Berryville VA (Upper Campus)
Camp fee: $190 per student.
Materials Fee: $35 (Includes official fencing glove for campers to keep.)
Instructor: Head coach David Copeland, USFA Professional Member with 25+ years of coaching experience.
Description:
FAST, FUN AND EXCITING!
This fencing camp will cover the history of the sword, as it relates to fencing, dueling, and the beginnings of the sport. Students will also get an understanding of the weapons, how each one is used, and the modern-day understanding of the rules. Beginners will also acquire an understanding of proper footwork, form, and function. Students will also have the opportunity to fence using the same style of electronic equipment used in the modern Olympic Games. Use of all protective fencing gear is provided in the camp.
